OUR HERITAGE

With the Indian Government's Open Sky Policy declared in 1993, a good number of Private Airline operators appeared on the Indian aviation scene which was earlier the monopoly of Indian Airlines and Air India. A direct impact of this development was the demand for qualified and experienced Aircraft maintenance Engineers. In the International arena, there are plenty of Aviation Industries looking for well qualified AMEs to support their modern fleet of aircraft. In 1993 the "Pilot & Aviation Maintenance Association" (PAMA) assessed the availability of Pilots, AMTs & AMEs for the 21st century and sounded the alarm about potential AMTs and AMEs shortage.

It was at this critical juncture VSM Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., started a school for training Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. The Institute was approved in 1993 vide approval No. Q/VSM/Trg/2970 by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Government of India. Today, VSM Training School is one of the best Institutes of its kind in Asia with all required infrastructure for impairing a high standard of training. VSM Aerospace also arranges hands-on-experience to all its students for six months in a Government / Private Airline Industry.

VSM Aerospace AME Training Institute is a part of the group of VSM Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. The C.E.O. is Mr. C. Jayachandra, who with a vast knowledge and experience from the British Aerospace, UK., is determined to meet the shortage with qualified AMEs to support the increasing business growth. In addition to the Training Institute, VSM Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., are the pioneers in readout, repair and overhaul of Flight Data Recorders (Black Boxes) installed on Aircrafts. VSM Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., were the first people to carry out the data copying 'in-situ' (directly from the Black Box without removing it from the aircraft) in collaboration with M/s Raytech Avionics Ltd., UK. This has saved lot of down time for the operators and foreign exchange for the country. Modification of avionics systems fitted in civil aircraft is also undertaken besides being the authorized organization by DGCA to maintain Aircraft stores. VSM is the authorized organization by 'L3 Communications' USA., for warranty repair of their flight data recorders for the whole of South East Asia.
