From
the Desk of the President:
For
an aircraft to take to the skies from anywhere in the world it has
to be certified by an Aircraft maintenance Engineer (AME), which
means that as long as men and material take to the skies, an AME
is a pre-requisite on ground. In the international arena there are
plenty of aviation industries looking for well qualified AMEs to
support their modern fleet of aircraft. The global aviation
industry is short of about 45,000 AMEs today and the requirement is
growing. In 1993 the (PAMA) 'Pilot and Aviation Maintenance Association
assessed the availability of Pilots, AMTs & AMEs for the 21st
century and sounded the alarm about potential AMTs and AMEs
shortage.
The
recent IT revolution has touched every aspect
of our lives. You think of an activity, be it commerce, banking or
communication and it is difficult to visualize it without the
computer. All management and commerce activities depend on
computers for achieving end results with accuracy and expediency.
Today, irrespective of your profession, you are expected to
have more and more knowledge of computers.
To
be part of the above ever-evolving high tech industries be it
aviation or information technology, education at VSM receives adequate attention
irrespective of the curriculum you choose.
